10-20.
Long 11-hr day at work and troop meeting night. Managed to hit a nearly 2-mile walk completed just after 10pm. Thoughts from today are bullet point style.
- Excited to meet Chad’s parents for the first time tomorrow at the Farmhouse Cafe where my entire journey started back when I accompanied Chad to meet my coworker.
- I have no idea what the topic of discussion will be, but I’ll be fully transparent and open. Hoping it will be joyful and be a blessing for everyone.
- I hope I don’t cry.
- I recall speaking to my brother a few months ago when I told him I was thinking about taking the next step for being a donor. One thing he said was the longer on kidney dialysis the worse he will get and harder it will be to recover. So, waiting 5 years is still not good. By acting more quickly, this would increase his chance for health and longevity. Wait. Just thought about this. What about the opportunity cost? Or better yet, an opportunity gain! Hear me out. 4-5 years down the road perhaps a NLD (Non Living Donor) kidney is available. It could have been slated for Chad if he were still on the list. Instead, another matching person on the list can have it. So, really with a single living donor- 2 people can be blessed and benefit sooner!
- How did I see God work today? I’m not sure. Had a good discussion with one of my trusted coworkers. He asked if he had permission to tell some folks about my impending surgery.
- My Teams Chat reply: I have struggled with this a great deal and journaled and searched for answers quite a bit recently. So, here is what I came up with. If there are any opportunities that can take my experience that can be shared with others to glorify God and bring them one step closer to accepting Christ into their hearts… then by all means- take it and run with it. For example, one fella asked why I was out and I said ‘medical’. He asked if I could share further and I think that by telling him (general atheist) I believe a seed can be planted. I’m working on journaling this experience now with the sole purpose to be able to share this with other friends that know me, but do not know Christ. This could be an opportunity for me to share real world experiences of God working in my life and answering prayers in amazing ways.
