Behind the Blog: Why We’re Telling Our Story

We didn’t start this blog because we had (or have) all the answers. (shhh…) We don’t.
(Full disclaimer: We aren’t doctors, so we aren’t offering medical advice. We merely pretend to be doctors while watching medical dramas.)

We started it because we had a story that changed our lives and we believe it can change others too. A kidney transplant is not just a medical event. It is a collision of hope, fear, sacrifice, and faith. It is a story that deserves to be told with honesty and heart.

This blog is our way of honoring our story. It is a space where we can reflect, educate, and connect. It is a place where we can say thank you to the people who carried us through the hardest days and celebrate the miracle that brought us here.

We are writing for the person currently going through kidney dialysis – wondering if anyone understands what that’s like. We are writing for the friend who is considering becoming a living donor, but feels overwhelmed. We are writing for the spouses, families, the nurses, the advocates, prayer warriors, and the unnamed heroes who make a kidney transplant journey possible.

We are also writing for ourselves. Because putting these moments into words helps us process what we’ve lived through. It helps us remember the laughter, the tears, the prayers, and the unexpected kindness. It helps us stay grounded in gratitude.

This blog is not just about kidney dialysis or kidney transplants. It is about connection. It is about the power of one person’s decision to change another person’s life.

It is about the ripple effect of that compassion.

We hope our posts help you understand and learn something new. It is our hope, they make you laugh out loud, maybe cry, and most of all, consider taking action such as seeing if you are a potential donor match for someone in need.

Whether you are here to learn, to heal, or to help, we are glad you found us.

Thank you for being part of our story.
