A Chance Encounter (S-1 Day)

10-22.

Chad sent me his parent’s contact info so they can get any updates from my surgery tomorrow. I sent a prayer request into the CCC app for more Christian brothers and sisters to pray. So much to pray for, but I managed to condense it down to the exact max of 280 letter count.  A lot of people were praying for me and Chad! Today is Chad’s surgery and my last testing / appointment day.

I randomly got to see a member of my Trail Life troop at the Transplant Center 3 floor office this am. I’ve heard a lot about their story and their miracle baby, Noah. I got to meet Noah and mom for the first time. We’ve prayed for Noah before and I have a small glimpse of how hard it’s been on their family. They are preparing for another miracle to take place.  I was a bit embarrassed to be recognized, but I told them why I was there. Somehow

Looking into his beautiful eyes and having him look back up at me has put me into a bit of an emotional state I’m not used to. Just thinking about this chance encounter at this time, at this place, for this reason, is a lot to take in. I wept ½ of the drive home and even now as I’m writing this on my phone at 11 am. Seeing a cute little baby is not normally what I would refer to as a highlight of my day. But this special one has touched a special place in my spirit that only God can reach because I’ve asked for Him to show up during this time and He sure did with allowing me to meet this little angel the day before my surgery. Thank you God for moving my Spirit in such an amazing way. I can’t recall a time ever where I’ve looked down to see my tears sprinkled on the floor. These are the moments when the Spirit of God is drawing near and my heart was full.

On a lighter note- handful of papers – two small bottles of shower soap. Signed papers on the back of a high tech Kleenex box, donor memorial thing I guess my first name and date will be added to that. No doggy bag or cool folder to carry stuff home with.

The nurse called back and after reviewing time- noticed a change so the arrival is now 5:30 am, not 6:30.

Not like I had other plans anyway!
