10 pm the night before my clinical day of testing. I’m positively optimistic as always, but I’m old enough to know that even the medical world can have “interesting” people in it. Let’s just say I have several nurses in my family and I hear lots of stories. No HIPAA violations or anything, just stories that may scare a person or gross you out during dinner. So, I will be evaluating all these people and hopefully I’ve got enough good questions to get a solid handle on this.
I don’t feel like asking for prayer that often, but this morning our church started a new app – which is really cool. And after much deliberation, I sent this request in for prayer:
29 people prayed for me today!
Pray for Jeff
“Big day on Monday. Please pray that God’s hand will be working through a lot of different people. Clarity for paths forward and positive results- that doors will open and God will be glorified no matter the results!”
So here we go. After sending this prayer request Sunday morning, later that evening during the middle school ministry devotional for 6-8th graders, the gal giving the devotional was talking about the body of Christ. Essentially, each individual in “the church” has special talents and gifts that can play a special part of the whole. She said some people might ask a silly question like, “Who thinks they would be like Jesus’ big toe, or spleen, or kidney?”
I thought that was a well-timed funny question since I’ve never thought more about a kidney in a single recent day than my entire 43 years on the face of the earth. I was going in the next day to get run through all the tests for the sole purpose of determining my kidney donating health status. So, I guess I can answer that silly question. Maybe I really would be the kidney part of the body of Christ.
