I thought this was somewhat timely! I received a text from Chad while I was getting my blood drawn and pee tested for donor suitability step 2 or 3:
“My ex (before I knew) you just told me she got tested to see if she is a donor, she isn’t, but cool she took the steps. Guess I didn’t burn that bridge.”
Well, so there I sat. Quietly deliberating and looking at my phone wanting to reply back with some good news. But, I just couldn’t do it. How could I tell Chad, well, I’m here right now crossing my legs because I’m waiting to pee into a cup to get myself tested, but then find out later I wouldn’t be accepted as a donor? I decided I needed to wait until I heard it was fully approved from the transplant team.
So for this test, I thought it would be a quick pee in a cup test and leave. I was mistaken! It was a 3-hour glucose test with three blood draws. Heading in now for the last draw and to flirt with the nurse to take my mind off being stabbed again. Been fasting for 17 hours and ready for some lunch. I also just got work apps added to my phone so I was actually able to keep up with work emails, a meeting, and chat messages all while utilizing billable time for a good portion of this visit!
