Monday. Able to proceed without any Flexeril (muscle relaxant) or Tylenol and keep minimal pain when getting up and walking. I still chose to take some this AM to take a bit of the edge off when I go on a longer walk this morning. My goal will be to try to hit .90 of a mile and later today hit one mile.
I was told that walking was a very important part of the recovery process. Moving is good for increasing blood flow, working muscles, as well as assisting in the general “digestion” process.
- I could certainly return to part-time work from home status today, but I’m going to press into the time off to work on relaxing, healing, journaling, and reading the Bible. You would think that over the past 4-6 months, I would have been diving deep into mining the treasures of God’s word with this heavy, life changing, event quickly approaching. Trying to find one more nugget of assurance and wisdom to help get me to surgery day. But that didn’t really happen for me. More of my preparation came from these journal notes and hearing God’s truth and message through worship songs than anything else.
- Waiting to hear if Chad will be released from the Hospital today. (He was finally discharged on October 28th.)
- Was supposed to have a Trail Life troop committee meeting this evening. Probably not up for that just yet and we had one other member who was going to be out- so was able to switch it to a virtual meeting on Thursday instead.
