Kidneys 101

I don’t know about you, but it has been quite a while since I sat through health class and learned the ins and outs of everything certain organs do.

Kidneys don’t just sit idle in the background.

They’re the body’s master filters, working every moment to clear out waste and excess fluid so life can keep flowing. But their role goes far beyond making urine. They maintain the delicate balance of salts, minerals, and water. They help regulate blood pressure, give rise to red blood cells, and even strengthen bones by activating Vitamin D. They guard the blood’s acid-base level, holding the line so your inner world stays steady. In their persistence, the kidneys remind us of the unseen work that goes into keeping us alive and whole.
