Having walked through the many stages of kidney disease, from dialysis to transplant, my curiosity has only grown. I find myself drawn to every breakthrough in kidney care (and the discoveries unfolding in pancreas research for those living with diabetes). These medical advances feel like lanterns along a long, dark, winding road; each one offering a bit more light for the journey for so many people in various stages of this unwelcome chronic kidney disease (CKD).
