Back to Work

11/10, Monday.

First full day back to work, at the office, dressed up in slacks, a belt, and long-sleeved shirt. No more sweatpants, gym shorts, and slippers. Reality sets back in and now it’s time to pick up where I left off and get some projects across the finish line that are due this week. The day went well, but I did feel pretty tired and was dragging a bit around 2pm. But, honestly on any normal Monday-that’s still been the case plenty of times!

When I came home, I found I had two letters from UNMC. Could one of them be the contact letter from my recipient? It is something I do look forward to reading and giving a reply back. It ended up being a hospital stay survey and an official kidney donor award with a green ribbon as something I can frame and hang on the wall. It was a cool memento thing I can save. I guess if someone were to doubt my story I wouldn’t show them the award, I’d show them my manly scars!  Well, 4 of them are manly enough-the jury is out on the last scar. The 5th scar is more or less a C-section scar. For some reason I feel like the manly factor drops off a bit for that one. I guess I gave birth to a kidney! I hope the new owner gives the little fella a good and worthy name.
